Vaca part 2!

Last day today. Part of me is ready to go home, part of me wants to stay on the beach forever! Yesterday, Dave realized he couldn't find his jacket he brought... It must be in an airport somewhere. Not a huge deal, except it has our car keys in it! I tried to call my mom and dad to see if my dad could bring our spare set to the hotel by the airport where our van is parked but when I call I get some message in Spanish and it hangs up on me. I guess I will call from Miami. Should be an interesting travel day!

We have seen more rain this trip than we have seen in years past. Fortunately, it has come at night, and the days are still bright and sunny. We watch clouds come in and watch as they pass over us. At night we have had some pretty bad thunder storms with rain. Last night we took a shuttle to dinner and were taking it home too, but it was only drizzling. So given it was our last night I decided to walk instead. Oops! About 30 seconds after the shuttle took off, the torrential rains came. I was soaked in a matter of moments. Oh well, a little rain never hurt anyone! Well, mostly anyway. The rooms on the first floor of the building next to us got a little flooded. I was happy to be on the third!

Our last two days have been a great combination do doing and relaxing. On Wednesday we went zip lining. The day started out a little frantic as our itinerary stated to meet in the lobby at 9:20, but at 7:30 we got a call stating they were here to pick us up! After running to the lobby, there was no tour bus. After some checking, our bus left, but they were sending us a new one. We caught up to our group and took some very bumpy back roads to zip lining. It was beautiful! There were seven zip lines that go from mountaintop to mountaintop. Even Ava got in on the action! She and Max had their own guides , in full gear and everything. Max, the bigs and Dave went the full course, but Ava and I stopped after 4. It was taking a little more cajoling each time to get Ava to go and I didn't want to get stuck out with her screaming.

The zip lining place is called monkey jungle, and besides zip lining, they also rescue monkeys that you can feed and pet. They have a huge sanctuary with 30 little monkeys. We went in and fed them as the came and sat on our shoulders, arms and heads. Very fun (unless you're Abby, who wasn't such a fan...)!

One other thing at the zip line place is a clinic and dentist for dominicans and Haitians that can't afford care. All proceeds go to that, which is also very cool.

Yesterday, our last full day here, we hung at the pool. After breakfast, we went to VIP pool, after lunch we went to Cofresi pool. After tiring there we went to the pool by our hotel. By 5 we came back to the room where Ava promptly crashed before we headed to dinner. The sun was bright, the kids were happy, the grown ups were drinking. Everyone was happy!

Tonight, we sleep in our own beds. Assuming we get our keys...
