Startling realizations

I had two jarring realizations today. Both are quite obvious, yet both hit me over the head.

#1... I was sitting in a retirement seminar and realized that in 8 years Abby will go to college. Eight. That is not very far away. She hasn't saved nearly enough money.

#2... In one month, school will be out for the summer. Duh, I know. But wow, one month, and Max will be a kindergartner, Abby in fifth grade and Nolan in third grade. And Ava in preschool. Wow.

It's just amazing to me that these things have such a "hit me over the head" effect. It literally leaves me spinning and disjointed. My world is out of control!
